About University of Arkansas Pine Bluff

The University of Arkansas Pine Bluff was founded in 1873 and it is a historical black university located in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The first name of the university was Branch Normal College, and after changing its name several times during the years, the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff name was settled, and remained the same until today.


The university is recognized as being a leading research institution, focusing on aquaculture studies. The aquaculture is a $167 million industry in Arkansas, and over a billion dollar industry in the Mississippi Delta region. The campus contains recreational facilities, including the Southeast Arkansas Arts and Science Center, libraries, and a convention center. The university offers several degrees in different areas, including Agricultural Business, Plant and Soil Science, Agriculture Education and Animal Science.


The university houses over 1000 students on campus and its main interest is to teach youngsters about the meaning of life, and to educate them in order to become productive citizens and capable individuals in their future careers.

Arkansas Railroad Museum. Visitors can see here displays of vehicles from different periods, including steam locomotives, old photographs and train parts.
